Start with the reliability question
Bring the problem, the constraints, and the evidence you have.
A useful first conversation should clarify the system, the affected workload, the operational risk, what has already been tried, and what decision the evidence needs to support.
What to include
Platform and version, workload, symptoms, business impact, timing, constraints, evidence collected, and the decision you need to make.
Good starting points
Reliability architecture: workload isolation, resilience, recovery, observability, change controls, or operational ownership need review.
Performance qualification: several remedies seem plausible, but the team needs a reproducible comparison and defensible acceptance criteria.
DBRE operating model: incident evidence, diagnostic tooling, runbooks, human approval, and automation need to function as one controlled system.
Technical leadership: a cloud database or data-platform decision needs senior independent judgment before implementation.
